Held II Ransom 032 - Simon Holmes - Questions EP
After a small cameo roll on the Etheral EP last yr Simon Holmes makes a return to the lable with his own 3 track EP showcasing his sound . One of the pioneers from the early "Hardcore Breaks" scene , known for his top production and trancey good vibes tunes , he brings his talents to bear on Held II Ransom
First up we have Questions the title track of the EP , opening up with lush pads and deep atmospheres , slowly building to the drop where the vocal kicks in an builds the pressure for the full on trance vibes of the track that has an underlying oriental feel , adding layers as it builds and builds , transporting u to another dimension !!
Next up is Purple Heart , droppin straight in with the oldskool vibes and vocals , this tune quickly evolves into a laid back 4am summertime jungle vibe , with phat warm bass and evocative strings and synths , this one capturing that oldskool goodlookin sound !
Last up we have 2 B Free , this tune really captures what Simon Holmes is all about , massive vocals , trancey riffs , lush strings , totally euphoric in the extreme !!!

D.Trac3d & Jay Walker - Androids EP
Next up on Held II Ransom We have the man D.Traced AkA Daniel Taylor , Droppin us a 2 part EP to Celebrate our 30th release on Held II Ransom ! No newcomer to the scene D.Trac3d has been around in one shape or another since the early days of hardcore as Tazz , then later taking the name Traced for his hard trance and techno in the mid 2000's , before finally finding bass music and electro and settling on the name D.Trac3d , with an extensive discography with releases on various labels we are very happy to welcome him to Held II Ransom !
First up on part 1 of this big EP is the title track Androids .Teaming up with Jay Walker , D.Trac3d brings us a monster dub step tune , half-time beats , quirky leads and a massive spoken sample , this tune twists it up into a frenzy of cut up bass and samples . "how many androids does it take to remove a light bulb?" None !!! Androids can see in the dark !! This one sure to set pulses racing an dance floors jackin'!!
Next up is Damn That and this time we have a look @ the Electro House side of D.Trac3d , Hard hitting Kick drums and lovely warm cut up bass envelop us leading us to a big synth breakdown before unloading a massive feel good riff on the drop , before the cut up vocals an bass drive this tune to its destination !!
Last and by no means least we have Interrobang which just keeps the showcasing of this mans talents going !! This time he brings us a Drum an bass monsta !! Another tune and another massive hands in the air moment ! Hard to miss D.Trac3d's style in this one , the cut up bass an samples running all the way complimenting the big euphoric lead !!! if U like Ur up-tempo euphoric Drum and bass then this one will have U waving them hands like U just don't care!!!!
All in all I'm sure You'll agree an excellent way to celebrate our 30th release !!

Did this hardcore breaks mix last night.Its my first bit of mixing since the end of may and came out really well...but i let you be the judge of that. All the tracks from the brilliant held 2 ransom label from eddie voyager and richie k.Plenty of heavy hardcore breaks and breakbeat tuneage. Thanks eddie for permission to use the logo.

a summer of heavy work commitments Held II Ransom strike back hard with
an upfront slice of bass driven music from The Rumblist !! Hot on the
heels of Releases on labels such as Definition:Breaks and Unstable label
he unleashes 4 tunes for this fresh EP !!
Up first an the title track of the EP we have Reset The World , opening with the line "you'll be begging for more" the tune slowly builds with haunting vocals hard beats and twisted leads , building and building adding layers of depth to a spine tingling drop to the break , where pianos an strings lift your spirit , readying you for the onslaught of filth that follows before combining the 2 to make a crescendo of sound to move you !
Feel Dat on the double A side gets involved quickly heavy punchy kicks , crisp snares and cheeky amens a plenty , layering in a catchy riff to get the tune rolling , Frantic beats and quirky arrangements make this a head shaker of a tune , drawing you into the break which opens out an drops you straight into an amenfest of old skool proportions , more lashings of bass and heavy panned leads keep up the head bending pressure !!
Over on the B side first tune up is Blur Face , taking a different style an tempo the Rumblist explores his half-time side with a blend of dubstep beats and breakbeats all mashed up to conjure a hybrid tune of epic proportions , building again with a catchy fucked up riff the tune builds to the break , where it stops briefly before it does what it says , "Drop The Bass" , proper oldskool tearout vibes !!!
Last and by no means least the dark horse , Tidy Up , a poker sample infused tune , a proper dirty , grimy , funked out strut of a tune , something to get low down an dirty too !! as the tune says " I can dodge bullets baby" and with this EP the Rumblist proves that he's not dodging the beats an the bass !!
This one due for release on Beatport for a 2 week exclusive on the 09/10/2012 and everywhere else on the 23/10/2012
